Tomato Rio Grande

Very large, meaty, pear-shaped tomatoes that become deep red at maturity. Perfect for making tomato paste, sauce and juice. Disease Resistant VFF and Vigorous plants are well adapted to extreme temperatures. Tomatoes require at least an inch of water per week. Determinate variety. Due to potential of heavy crops on this tall plant plus to keep fruit clean and easy to pick, it is recommended to support plants with stakes or cages.

Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds in flats and cover with clear dome to keep soil moist and warm. Remove covering once seeds germinate.
