Prizehead lettuce produces bright green leaves that are edged with a brilliant reddish-brown. This leaf lettuce variety has broad, crumpled, well-frilled foliage. The leaves stay crisp and tender and boast a buttery flavor. Prizehead is a cool weather crop.

  • Preparation Ideas: Separate lettuce leaves and wash leaves well in kitchen sink. Drain water and place washed lettuce in a colander. Shake colander to remove excess water from the lettuce leaves. Dry lettuce leaves on kitchen towel or paper toweling. Wrap dried lettuce leaves in paper towel and place in plastic bag or plastic container and place in refridgerator until ready to use.
