Start Coleus seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in your area. Follow the seed depth and spacing guidelines indicated below. Once all danger of frost has passed, seedlings should be hardened off before planting into their growing location. Seedlings should be transplanted according to the plant and row spacing directions below. Pick a location sheltered from the wind and receives at least 6 hours of sun per day. Regularly monitor your plants and ensure that the soil remains moist, but not soggy while they establish themselves in their new environment.

Suggestions
Growing Suggestions:
During the first week after planting, keep the root ball moist but not too wet. Only water when the top 2.5 cm (1") of soil is dry as coleus will rot if overwatered.
For the best foliage color, choose a location that receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Plants should be protected from wind as their stems break easily.
Pinch growing shoots of young plants frequently to encourage branching and bushier growth.
The plant does occasionally bloom at the end of long stalks; trim the stalks for a more compact, bushy plant.
