Summertime is perhaps the best head lettuce for the home gardener. An iceberg variety, it is a delightful crisphead lettuce that grows solid, compact heads. This cool weather crop is heat tolerant, making it slow to bolt and become bitter.

Suggestions Chevron Down Chevron Forward
  • Lettuce needs plenty of moisture. Also, fall crops may have to be started indoors since lettuce has a difficult time even germinating in hot weather. Transplant with care.
