Suggestions
Growing Suggestions:
Oregano seeds can be started at any time for indoor use.
Keep soil moist, yet not overly wet. Oregano prefers the soil to dry out in between waterings.
Allow oregano plants to grow to 10 cm (4") tall, then trim to encourage bushiness and avoid legginess.
To get the most flavor out of your oregano, it is best to harvest it in the mornings after the dew has dried. The essential oils in herbs are most concentrated in warm mornings. Harvest the herb just as flower buds are forming for the best flavor. Use scissors or garden shears to remove stems from the plant. Cut back to just above a growth node or set of leaves. This will allow the plant to branch from the cut area and produce more flavorful leaves.
