"This was my first time growing peas. I used Tom Thumb Peas because my beds are shallow and I only wanted short plants. I had 100 percent germination so was very pleased with that. They grew quite well until the rabbits decided they liked them too. They chewed through the netting I had around them and trampled them, chewed the pods in half but left them behind and then ate the leaves. They pretty much destroyed them. We are going to fence the bed and replant for a fall harvest."
"Overall these are very cute little plants, and fun for kids. Germination rate is low, however, around 60%, so I start them in seed cells, then transfer out after they're about 2 inches tall. You can fit 4-5 in a 1 gallon pot, and 5 or 6 in a railing or windowbox planter. They grow about 6 inches tall and produce a few adorable, tasty little pods. Plant twice as many as you actually want to accommodate for poor germination."
