Sub Arctic Plenty Tomato is one of the earliest maturing varieties, developed specifically for cold and short growing seasons.
It was developed in Alberta for Prairie climates. This cultivar produces bountiful yields of 56-70g (2-2 1/2 oz.) tomatoes on upright plants early in the season.
Keep tomatoes away from all members of the Brassica family: cabbage, cauliflower, etc.

Instructions
Start tomato seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost in your area. Follow the seed depth and spacing guidelines indicated below. Once all danger of frost has passed, seedlings should be hardened off before planting in their growing location. Seedlings should be transplanted according to the plant and row spacing directions below. Transplant seedlings into the garden once the soil temperature has reached 15°C (60°F). Pick a location sheltered from the wind. Regularly monitor your plants and ensure that the soil remains moist , but not soggy while they establish themselves in their new environment.

- Tomato plants need a lot of water to produce big, juicy, flavorful tomatoes! Consistent moisture is essential for best results. If tomatoes do not receive consistent moisture, the skins will split or possibly develop blossom end rot. Always water plants at the oil level; this strengthens the root system and avoids foliage disease.
- Spread mulch around the base of the plant to prevent soil from splashing onto the fruit as this can lead to disease in the tomatoes. As your tomato plants grow, you will notice new small stems sprouting from the point where the main stem connects to the larger branches. These small stems are called in suckers in and they tend to drain a lot of energy from your plant. To help your tomato plants grow faster and produce amazing tomatoes, it is recommended you remove these suckers by pinching them off with your thumb and forefinger. By doing so, your tomato plant will be able to allocate more energy to the growth of the main stem, resulting in better tomato production.
- If you plant your seedlings deeply, it will encourage the growth of roots from the main stem. Sometimes, tomato plants tend to grow tall and may fall over, even in their initial stages. To avoid this, plant them just deep enough so that the bottom set of leaves is 2.5-5 cm (1-2 in) above the soil surface. Some gardeners prefer planting their tomatoes on their sides, which helps to spread the root system over a larger area, strengthen the main stem, and straighten it toward the sun.

"These have produced many pounds of tomatoes off each plant. Very sweet tasting. Love the smaller size as we just cut them in half and sprinkle a little salt and pepper and devourer. I know it says they grow from 15" to 24" but all my plants have grown to at least 48". Caused me to redo my cages, had to make a lot taller and very much sturdier. Now that I know how well they produce I will be ready for next season."

"I planted seven seeds back in early March. All seeds successfully germinated and grew into fine healthy seedlings which were transplanted out into the garden in the spring. The plants grew beautifully and produced a good yield of fruit, many of which were in pristine condition. The taste was very good and were greatly enjoyed. I have only two trusses remaining on one plant which will fully ripen before the end of this week. I heartily recommend this variety."

"These tomatoes will take a licking and keep on ticking! I grew these as a container experiment that I started in the winter (5 gallon buckets for each grown tomato). They got leggy under the lights, but kept growing. I put them out in containers when still quite early, they got badly frosted on, and half of them kept on growing. They got their bottom halves eaten by a groundhog and one got the stem broken, and they kept on growing with a little splinting. They outgrew their stakes in May when they finally got put outside for good and they *still* kept growing, all bent over at the tops from the weight! They're VERY heavy producers despite going through all that, though the fruits are quite small on mine. Not a big fan of the flavour though, too tart for my tastes. Will definitely try them again for some super-early tomatoes next year."
