Instructions Chevron Down Chevron Forward

Fill a container with potting soil approximately 5 cm (2 in.) from the top. Scatter seeds and press into the soil to ensure good contact and cover with 6 mm (1/4 in.) of soil. After planting, water the seeds with a gentle mist. Cover the container with a clear plastic lid or plastic wrap. It is critical to keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy, during germination. Place the container in a cool and dark place to help the seeds germinate. In 5 to 7 days you’ll be able to see the tiny seedlings sprouting. Remove the plastic wrap carefully and thin seedlings to 1.3 cm (1/2 in.) apart. Place the container where it can receive some sun and indirect light, a windowsill is perfect for this. Keep soil slightly moist. Once the grass is 7-12 cm (3-5 in.) tall it is ready for your pet to enjoy.

  • Planting Depth: 6 mm (1/4in.)
  • Seed Spacing: 1.3 cm (1/2 in.)

McKenzie Catgrass Oats

"A weekly growing experience for Happy the cat who loves it and waits eagerly for the next weekly batch after a few days. Really sad that McKenzie discontinued the kits that were available at Home Hardware and Canadian Tire. Speaking at both store managers where I was a faithful buyer, they said they sold well at each store and could not understand why McKenzie discontinued them. A great Canadian product gone. Boo-hoo and meow!"

It is a great grass!!!!!BUT

"Our cat likes the grass but l really liked the cat grass kits that you had delivered to CanadianTire. I bought at least 6 of these when l found - they were so convenient with expanding soil disc and container all in one. I cant find them anywhere any more. Both Home Hardware and Canadian Tire say they are discontinued. I tried to find them on your website and could not find them. I really liked the large expanding discs as l did not have buy a separate bag of soil and containers to grow the grass. Our cat liked the grass grown in them - l think because the stems held the moisture better has it grew under the dome. The kit price was really great compared to all the other grass growing stuff. I have tried to buy the large flat expanidng disc but cant find them anywhere either."
